Salman Ahmed Shaikh received his PhD degree in Data Mining in March, 2014 from University of Tsukuba, Japan and B. Eng. degree in computer systems and the M. Eng. degree in communication systems and networks from the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan in 2005 and 2008, respectively. He was awarded distinguished student researcher award and the best graduate award for his PhD and B.Eng. degrees, respectively. Dr. Shaikh is working as a postdoc researcher since April, 2014 at the University of Tsukuba, Japan on a Big Data project, Research and Development on Real World Big Data Integration and Analysis, funded by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan. While working on the Big Data project, Dr. Shaikh have explored and developed interest in many diverse areas of it including, Big Data Management, Processing and Mining, Real-time Data Processing (Stream Data Processing), Transactional Processing. Besides, he is interested and have experience of the following research areas: Data Warehousing, Data Mining, Online Analytical Processing (OLAP), Uncertain Data Processing and Parallel & Distributed Processing of Data. Dr. Shaikh is a member of Database Society of Japan (DBSJ), International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology (IACSIT) and Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
