Ana M. Aguilera was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1967. She received the Mathematics degree and the Ph.D. degree (summa cum laude) from the Universidad de Granada (UGR), Granada, Spain, in 1990 and 1993, respectively. Since 1990, A.M. Aguilera has been fully dedicated to teaching and researching in the Department of Statistics and O.R. of UGR. From 1996 she has been the head of the research team of several research projects funded by the Spanish government. In addition to publishing a high number of research papers in reputable journals and books, she has acted as a reviewer for journals of high impact being Associate Editor of the journals Computational Statistics, International Journal of Stochastic Analysis and Open Journal of Statistics. She has supervised several Ph.D. and and M. Phil students. She has also attended many national and international conferences some of them as invited speaker in specialized sessions. She began her research career in the field of stochastic processes and her main research topics at present are Functional Data Analysis, Stochastic Modelling and statistical applications in different fields as life sciences among others . Currently she is Editor in Chief of the journal BEIO published by the Society of Statistics and Operation Research (SEIO) and belongs to the research group Functional Data Analysis of the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics (ERCIM) and the one on the same topic of SEIO. >
