Xianzhi Wang's research lies in the fields of Internet of Things, data mining, machine learning, recommender systems, and cybersecurity, with a focus on misinformation detection, cognitive analysis, and domain big data analytics (health, transport, e-commerce). His work has been published in top-tier journals and conferences such as IEEE Trans. on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, IEEE Trans. on Mobile Computing, IEEE Trans. on Services Computing, ACM Trans. on Internet Technology, ICDM, AAAI, IJCAI, SIGIR, CIKM, ER, ICSOC, ICWS. He served as the guest editor for ACM Trans. on Sensor Networks, Journal of Big Data, and editorial board member for International Journal of Web Engineering and Technology. He was the program co-chair for the 9th International Conference on Emerging Ubiquitous Systems and Pervasive Networks (EUSPN 2018): Semantic Web Technologies Track, 4th IEEE International Conferences on Mobile Services (IEEE MS 2015): Special track on Services for the Ubiquitous Web, and the 1st International Workshop on Data-Driven and Predictive Business Analytics (DPBA 2015). He also serves as the publicity chair for International Symposium on Internet of Ubiquitous and Pervasive Things (IUPT 2017) and panelist for Australasian Computer Science Week (ACSW 2019): Early Career Researcher panel. He was recognized as an Outstanding Reviewer by International Journal of Human-Computer Studies in 2018.
