Rajendra Prasath R received his B.Sc. in Mathematics from University of Madras; M.Sc. in Mathematics from Ramanujan Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics, University of Madras, Chennai; Ph.D. in Mathematics - Computer Science from University of Madras, Chennai; M.Tech and Ph.D in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India. Rajendra started his teaching career in 1999 by offering a course to the master degree students at University of Madras. During 2004-2006, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Technology, M.N.M. Jain Engineering College under Anna University, Chennai. Later Rajendra joined the Communication Empowerment Laboratory, IIT Kharagpur as a Senior Project Officer in the Cross Lingual Information Access (CLIA) Project. During August 2009-September 2010, Rajendra worked at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway first as an ERCIM Alain Bensoussan Fellow and then as a Research Scientist. Rajendra was a visiting fellow at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IIIA), Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Barcelona, Spain and Swedish Institute of Computer Science (SICS), Kista, Sweden during May - June 2010. Then Rajendra spend a couple of years in the Phase - II of the CLIA project at IIT Kharagpur. In 2013, Rajendra started his postdoctoral position at the National University of Ireland, University College Cork (UCC), Cork, Ireland and developed the B-MIDEA framework at the Department of Business Information Systems, UCC, Ireland. Later Rajendra led the team and developed the B-MIDEA system that helps to create new business intelligence models. He served as a senior postdoctoral fellow during April 2014 - April 2015 at UCC. He is instrumental in the commercialization and automation of B-MIDEA System. Currently, Rajendra is working on knowledge discovery tasks from scientific articles. Rajendra won the best paper award in AIRS 2013 conference and several travel awards to present his research work in various international conferences like MICAI, PReMI and MIKE. He also developed tools for Cross Lingual Information Access system [at IIT Kharagpur] as a part of MCIT, Government of India sponsored research project. During 2013-2015, Rajendra has been instrumental in developing the B-MIDEA system at the National University of Ireland, University College Cork, Ireland. Recently, Rajendra is developing a fully automated version of an intelligent Reasoning system that creates business models and helps the ideation process in a collaborative way. Rajendra also served as a reviewer for journals: IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, Information Sciences, Journal of Convergence Information Technology and several popular international conferences. Rajendra serves as one of the founding volume editors of MIKE conference series. He is a professional member of ACM, International Rough Set Society (IRSS), Warsaw and Information Retrieval Society of India. His research interests include information retrieval, machine learning, unstructured text mining, textual case based reasoning, and big data analysis for business intelligence.
