Burhan Gülbahar received the B. S. and M. S. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey, in 1999 and 2002, respectively. He had been a research assistant at Next-generation and Wireless Communications Laboratory (NWCL) and has received his Ph. D. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Koç University, Istanbul, Turkey in January 2012. Dr. Gulbahar is currently an Asst. Prof. Dr. at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Ozyegin University, Istanbul, Turkey. He is also the Coordinator of the graduate education program (Vestel Academy) at Vestel Electronics Inc., Manisa, Turkey. His current research interests are in nanoscale optical communications, visible light communications, graphene and carbon nanotube communication networks, underwater communication networks, cognitive radio networks, wireless sensor networks, quantum communications and consumer electronics for smart home architectures. Dr. Gulbahar is a Senior Member of IEEE (Communications Society). Dr. Gulbahar was one of seven Finalists among more than 250 projects in Bell Labs Prize 2015 global competition with his nanorobot themed project. He was serving as an Editor for the International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks (Hindawi) in 2015. He has served in technical program committees of international conferences on communications and networking. He has served as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member of many international conferences.
