Information is now the substrate of nearly every scientific, industrial and societal system, and computing is what turns that information into insight, prediction and action. Held annually since 2018, the Future of Information and Computing Conference (FICC) is a peer-reviewed research forum dedicated to advancing both the theory and practice of information-driven computing, from data science, machine learning and semantic understanding to the high-performance, distributed and edge architectures that make large-scale information processing possible.
FICC began life as the Future of Information and Communication Conference; its renaming reflects the growing centrality of computing in contemporary research and innovation. FICC brings together researchers and practitioners to share original work on how information systems learn, reason and scale, and to examine the security, privacy and trust challenges that come with them.
FICC is now affiliated to the Future Technologies Conference (FTC), with its proceedings published as a dedicated volume within the FTC Proceedings by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems (LNNS) series.
