amir El Hajjaji obtained a Higher National Diploma in Chemistry at the University Institute of Technology of Rouen, France and a BSc in Chemistry at the University of Orleans, France. Next, he completed an MSc in Organic & Analytical Chemistry at the University of Orleans, France, before undertaking a PhD in Organometallic Catalysis in the group of Prof. Simon Woodward, at the University of Nottingham, UK. His PhD work was under the theme of Asymmetric metal-catalysed alkyl addition to imines. After completing his PhD in 2009, he was appointed to the School of Science & Engineering of Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI), Morocco, where he currently holds the position of Associate Professor of Chemistry. He teaches General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, among other courses. As a Fulbright scholar (2014, San Diego, USA), his research interests lie in the fields of waste valorization, recycling, biodiesel, water treatment, and chemical education. He has a keen interest in learning technologies, AI in education and online teaching and learning.
