Irving A. Cruz-Albarran received his PhD in Mechatronics from the Autonomous University of Querétaro in 2019. He is currently a professor and researcher at the Faculty of Engineering at the same university. He is a Level 1 researcher in the Department of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (SECIHTI). He leads the ‘Artificial Intelligence Systems Applied to Biomedical and Mechanical Models’ research group. He has supervised theses at bachelor's, master's and doctoral level. He is the author of over 40 scientific publications (JCR articles, conference papers and book chapters). He has also led funded research projects. His research interests include mechatronics, artificial vision, artificial intelligence, the development of biomedical devices, and thermography in engineering and healthcare. He is currently certified as a Level 2 thermographer.
