Dr. Md. Saiful Islam received his B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Bangladesh, 2006 and PhD degree from Deakin University, Australia, 2012. Dr. Islam has received a number of prestigious awards including ‘Academic Gold Medal’, ‘International Post Graduate Research Scholarships’, ‘Faculty Top-up Scholarship’ and ‘Endeavour Research Fellowship’ for his outstanding academic performance during the course of his study. He was a lecturer and then an assistant professor with the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, KUET, 2006-2013. Currently, he is working as a Senior Lecturer at the school of Engineering at Military Technological College, Oman. Dr Islam is member of several Professional Engineering Institutions (PEIs) including, IET, IEAust and IMarEST. Dr Islam is a senior member of IEEE. In MTC’s journey to programme accreditation, he has played a substantial role both in preparation for and during programme validation visits by PEIs, including IMechE, RAeS, IET and EI to MTC Dr. Islam has been involved in reviewing journal and conference articles and book chapters for IEEE Sensors Journal, Bentham Science Publishers, and International Journal of Nanomedicine, Optical Engineering, Applied Spectroscopy, Journal of Nanophotonics. He is currently focusing his research on Biosensor, BioMEMS, surface plasmon resonance biosensor, Deep Brain Stimulation, Energy harvesting and Machine Learning.
