Roopali Garg is Ex-Coordinator of Department of Information Technology Engineering, University Institute of Engineering & Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh. She did her M.Tech in Electronics and B.Tech in Electronics & Electrical Communication Engg from PEC University of Technology (formerly known as Punjab Engineering College), Chandigarh. She has also equipped herself with a 6-month Advanced level Diploma in VLSI Design from Vedanta at Semiconductor Complex Ltd (SCL), Mohali. She has been in academics for past 12 years and is armed with rich teaching and research experience. Ms. Garg has over 60 technical papers (till date) published in indexed high impact-factor International Journals; and presented in International Conferences of the repute of IEEE and Springer Ms. Garg has also authored a book on Polarization Mode Dispersion which is published by a German Publishing house. In addition she has several book chapters to her credit in books from well-known publishing houses like McGraw Hill. Her focused research area is Wireless communication, Optical communication and Cognitive Radio. She has guided more than 15 M.Tech Thesis till date. She has delivered guest talks and lectures in various institutes like NITTTR. She has reviewed many research papers for varied reputed journals. She is an active Life Member of several International and National technical organizations like ISTE, IETE, IEE. In addition to being an academician and researcher, Ms. Garg is member of several University level committees like Board of Control, Board of Studies, Academic, Technical, Magazine and Sports Committees. She has attended numerous workshops, refresher courses to network with other researchers and also to keep herself abreast with the ever dynamic field. She has been awarded Administrator's Gold medal by Chandigarh Administration in 2000 for her supreme performance in curricular, co- curricular and extra- curricular activities.
