Bocheng Chen is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science at the University of Mississippi. His research focuses on the security implications of large language models and autonomous AI agents, particularly their role in identifying software vulnerabilities and automating aspects of vulnerability analysis and exploitation. His work emphasizes defensive applications such as AI-assisted bug discovery and secure software development, while also examining broader policy and security challenges posed by advanced AI capabilities in cyber operations. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Michigan State University in 2025 and his BS in Electronic Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2020. His research has been published in leading venues in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, including ASIACCS, RAID, USENIX Security, and ACM Computing Surveys.
