Sofia Meacham

Dr Sofia Meacham is a Principal Academic in Computing at Bournemouth University, where she has worked for the past 12 years. With more than 30 years of experience in computing, her career spans industry, research and development, and academia. Her research focuses on domain-specific languages (DSLs) for areas including data science, health and education, with a strong emphasis on industrial applicability. She has collaborated with partners across telecommunications, healthcare and software engineering, developing solutions that bridge technical research with real-world needs. Her current research interests include AI governance and the use of domain-specific languages to support responsible, transparent and structured approaches to AI-enabled systems, alongside wider developments in artificial intelligence and large language models.
