Silvestre Malta, professor and researcher at ESTG Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo, holds a PhD in Telecomunications from University of Vigo. He received a MSc degree in Technology and Information Systems Management, from the Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo, Portugal and a BSc degree in Informatics Engineering in Networking and Communications Systems, from the Instituto Politécnico de Leiria, Portugal. He teaches in the BSc’s of Computer Engineering and Computer Networks and Systems Engineering courses and in the MSc in Cybersecurity of the ESTG IPVC. His research interests include the areas of 5G mobile networks, computer networks, machine learning applied in networking, and cybersecurity. With over 25 years of professional experience, he has extensively engaged in Network Administration, Cybersecurity, Network Architecture, and the Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP), in addition to Switching and Routing. His career includes collaboration with numerous private enterprises.
