Domain of Research: Smart cities technology, SC architectures, edge computing, data management in smart environments

Associate professor at the UPC BarcelonaTECH. Vice Dean in the Computer Science School (2001-2010), Academic Director in the Center of Cooperation for Development (2010-2012), and UPC Rector's Delegate at the Tongji University, in Shanghai, China (2015-2016). His research is currently developed in the CRAAX Lab, with interests in resources management for smart scenarios, with emphasis on the data management and optimization of big data processing. He has also been involved with the massively parellel systems, the optimization techniques for supercomputers, and the optimization of run-time environments.
