Jo-Ann V. Magsumbol is a distinguished educator, researcher, and leader in the field of Electronics and Communications Engineering at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Since joining the faculty in 2009, she has played pivotal roles in advancing both academic and research initiatives. Currently serving as the MS ECE Program Chair (since February 2025), Jo-Ann has been instrumental in shaping the curriculum and guiding the next generation of engineers. Previously, she led the Center for Futures Research at the Research Institute for Strategic Foresight and Innovation (January 2024 – August 2024), where she spearheaded cutting-edge projects at the nexus of artificial intelligence and renewable energy. In addition to her teaching and leadership responsibilities, Jo-Ann is a dedicated scholar pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy in Electronics and Communications Engineering. Her expertise and commitment to excellence are further recognized through her roles as an Associate Member of the National Research Council of the Philippines and as an ASEAN Engineer. Her research interests, which focus on integrating artificial intelligence with renewable energy solutions, continue to drive her contributions to sustainable innovation and strategic foresight in engineering.
