Majaz Moonis

Majaz Moonis

Dr. Majaz Moonis is a Professor of Neurology and Director of Stroke Services and the Vascular Neurology Program at UMass Memorial Healthcare, United States. He also serves as Director of the Stroke and Sleep Centers at Day Kimball Hospital in Connecticut. Board-certified in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Sleep Medicine, Dr. Moonis is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and has over two decades of clinical and academic experience.

An active clinician and researcher, Dr. Moonis focuses on outcomes in stroke and dementia, health disparities in neurological care, and precision approaches to stroke prevention. He is widely involved in clinical trials and data analysis in both acute stroke care and sleep disorders. Dr. Moonis also leads the Stroke Prevention Clinic and the Vascular Neurology Fellowship Program at UMass, and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the region including Health Alliance Hospital.

Sanja Dogramadzi

Sanja Dogramadzi

Sanja Dogramadzi is Professor of Medical Robotics and Research Director at the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering at University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom with over 20 years of research experience in surgical and physical assistance robots, safe human-robot interaction and soft robotic structures.

She has led numerous EPSRC, EC, NIHR and Innovate UK projects as PI. She is in the Executive Board of Sheffield Robotics. Prof. Dogramadzi established the medical robotics group at Bristol Robotics Laboratory, before moving to University of Sheffield in 2020.

Arshia Khan

Arshia Khan

Arshia Khan is professor and director of graduate studies at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Khan’s research is directed at growing the emerging field of human-robot interactions and autonomous behavior, specifically in the areas of artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and robotic assistive technology. This research, which combines computer science and engineering with medicine and patient care, offers promising solutions to chronic neurodegenerative problems such as dementia. Khan received the Research Initiative in Bioinformatics award and is currently studying the deployment of humanoid robots in nursing homes to improve residents’ quality of life. She is passionate about encouraging women and students from diverse backgrounds in computing and chairs the Women in Computing committee for the Swenson College of Science and Engineering.

Ali Alouani

Ali Alouani

Dr. Alouani received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Tennessee Knoxville in1986. Dr. Alouani was principal engineer at Ecole National d'Ingenieurs de Tunis, Tunisia in 1981. Dr. Alouani developed and taught many undergraduate and graduate courses in the Systems and Signals areas. To date he has published 120 technical journal and conference papers. Dr. Alouani holds 4 patents. Dr. Alouani has been active in many areas of Electrical & Computer Engineering.

Dr. Alouani's research interests include: Stochastic Systems, Sensor Data Fusion, Artificial Neural Networks and Fuzzy Systems, Robust Control, Power Systems Stability & Control, Independent Component Analysis, Automatic Prescription Verification System for Pharmaceutical Mail Order (APVS), Tracking and Data Fusion, Tube Leak Detection, Pulmonary Tumor Detection, Autonomous Systems Design (ASRFDE), Various Signal Processing Applications.

Kohei Arai

Kohei Arai

Dr Kohei Arai, a Scientist, Professor and Author. He is currently Professor at Saga University, Japan and Adjunct Prof. of the University of Arizona, USA since 1998. Dr Arai received PhD degree in Information Science from Nihon University in June 1982 and MS degree in Electronics Engineering from Nihon University in March 1974. His current research concerns are Satellite Remote Sensing, Radiative Transfer Equation, Human-Computer Interaction, Image Recognition and Understanding, Non-Linear Optimization Theory and Wavelet Analysis. Dr Arai holds 42 patents and received numerous awards, including the Patent Award of the Year. Dr Arai has been featured in Japan Times and Italian Newspapers for his work on Eyes only Computer System. He has worked on several global research collaboration projects during his career. He wrote 31 books and published 490 journal papers and 390 of conference papers.
