Prof. Dr. Jochen L. Leidner M.A. M.Phil. FRGS is Research Professor of Explainable and Responsible Artificial Intelligence at Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Visiting Professor of Data Analytics at the University of Sheffield, and CEO of KnowledgeSpaces. He worked as a software developer in core technology and knowledge management at SAP, at various self-founded startups, and as a scientist, lead scientist and Director of Research (Corporate R&D) at Thomson Reuters Corporation (the parent of the Reuters news agency) and Refinitiv Ltd. in London (part of the London Stock Exchange Group), before moving to academia. He holds a M.A. in computational linguistics, English language and literature and computer science from Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU), a M.Phil. in computer speech, text and Internet technologies from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. in informatics form the University of Edinburgh. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a member of ACM and ACM SIGIR and past convenor of the BCS/Microsoft Karen Spärck Jones award (2020-2022).
