Xuesong Yang is a Research Scientist at Amazon Alexa Speech. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in Informatics, a multidisciplinary program with Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Linguistics, and Cognitive Science at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). His research interests mainly focus on deep learning for automatic speech recognition, speech signal processing, and spoken language understanding. He is also interested in applying state-of-the-art spoken language technologies to assisting the second language learners, as well as exploring ways to enhance the communicative competence of people who have communication disorders. Xuesong has worked at renowned research institutes such as IBM, Microsoft, Adobe, and Educational Testing Service. Xuesong holds patents in US and China and has published in top-tier venues such as the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, IEEE ICASSP, SLT, IROS, and ISCA Interspeech.
