Victor Govindaswamy received the B.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering from University of Texas at Austin, Austin, Texas, USA, and his Masters and Ph.D. degrees in computer science and engineering from University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, Texas, USA. In 2013, he is currently an Associate Professor in Computer Science at the Concordia University Chicago, USA. He was a member of the famed DARPA-funded Dynamic, Scalable, Dependable, Real-Time (DeSiDeRaTa) research lab at the University of Texas at Arlington. He developed a distributed networked process that guarantees to provide survivability, timeliness, scalability and profiling services, even under heavy tactical loads, to applications without the need for writing massive programs to provide such services by using the DeSiDeRaTa middleware to provide these services at the path level of abstraction. He now leads the Bioinformatics And Technology (BAT) research group and has collaborated with researchers from all over the world. His research includes computer networks and security, especially in telemedicine and telehealth. He pioneered the denial-of-service scheme called RECHOKe (REpeatedly CHOose and keep for non-malicious flows, REpeatedly CHOose and Kill for malicious flows), a novel sorting algorithm called Clumpsort and a receiver-modification scheme called RWM for buffer management. He had received the prestigious Texas A&M University System's Teaching Award three times.
