Issam Moghrabi is a Professor of M.I.S at GUST and is currently the Head of the M.I.S Department. He serves on several university-level committees, such as the Curriculm Committee, the IT user Committee and others. After receiving his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Lebanese American University in 1988, he spent two years as an Information System Analyst at Computer Aided Technology as well as a computer instructor in several technical schools in Lebanon. He did his Masters in Computer Science at Essex University, U.K. in 1989 where he also worked as an instructor for the same department until he graduated in 1993 with a Ph.D. in the same field. Issam has a distinction in the degrees he pursued. He is a Fulbright Scholar and received several recognitions/awards for his achievements in research and teaching such as the Hariri scholarship and award. He did his postdoctoral in Geographic Information Systems at Wyoming University, Laramie, U.S.A and holds a certificate in Quality Management of Projects. Professor Moghrabi is a referee for several journals and specialized conferences (such as Computers and Applied Math, WSEAS, IASTED..). He has organized several seminars and two conferences (ICSM 1999, and RTST 2000 in Beirut and served on the organizing/scientific committees of several international conferences (such as WCECS 2009). His teaching experience is much diversified as he joined several reputable universities on part time basis where he contributed to the reengineering of their programs actively. One example is the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of the American University of Beirut (2002-2007). Professor Moghrabi supervised over 35 Masters and Ph.D.theses in Computer Science, M.I.S and Mathematics.
