My research interest is in databases, big data analytics, data sciences, and computer-aided diagnosis. My research extensively investigates the problem of biomedical data integration with heterogeneous and unstructured data elements. This research focuses on: knowledge extraction techniques for content and coverage analysis of medical data sources that can guide the integration of these data, workflow for integration of heterogeneous biomedical data sources, techniques to reduce variability within heterogeneous data sources through data categorization and merging algorithms, and extraction of semantic tags from data sources to annotate the integrated data repository in order to enhance query recall and perform faster query lookup. While integrating clinical data, I also look at the data governance policies to manage clinical and other domain data. This research can be also applied to other domains with heterogeneous and unstructured big data.
